Processing and output
Higher CRF means a smaller file and lower quality. The final size depends on the source content.
Does my video get uploaded?
No. Selected video, audio, subtitles and fonts are processed in this browser. They are not submitted to a video processing server.
What settings does Video Compressor offer?
Higher CRF means a smaller file and lower quality. The final size depends on the source content.
Can you guarantee a target file size?
No. This compressor uses a quality setting rather than a fixed-size target. Output size depends on duration, motion, resolution and how efficiently the source was already encoded.
Why might a compressed video become larger?
A source already encoded efficiently can be smaller than a new H.264 export. Lowering resolution or increasing CRF can help, at the cost of detail. Compare the downloaded result before replacing your original.
Can I process large files on a phone?
Modern browsers are supported. Combined inputs are limited to 300 MB on desktop and 100 MB on phones or low-memory devices, with lower default output resolution. Merge up to 8 clips. Short clips work best; transitions, compression and conversion can take time.
